First Week of School - GET EXCITED - Henon Gebre

Whether you are a new or returning student, your first week of school at USU is going to be FUNNN! There are numerous events and activities for students to engage in all aspect of campus life. So if you are worried about making new friends, like I was my freshman year, DONT! USU offers endless opportunities for you to get involved, which allows you to make new friends!

Here are a few things to consider as you are getting ready for college:

1. Come at least a week before school starts especially if it is your first time in the U.S or Utah
This gives you enough time to: explore campus and Logan, learn how to use the Bus system – which by the way is FREE :),  know where the grocery store is and how to get there……... and things like that.

2. Make sure you have a place to live prior to coming to Logan

Getting a house last minute can be a bit of a hassle.Start looking for apartments early to secure a spot. Whether you choose to live on-campus or off-campus, you have variety of options to choose from.

and this link for  information on setting up off-campus housing

3. Sign-up for classes as early as you can

Registering for classes can be confusing for the first time if you are doing it on you own. However, there are resources to guide you through every step of the process. You can register for classes through the online system. If you are not familiar with this process, please check out this link http://www.usu.edu/registrar/htm/registration/before

Once you are signed up for classes, you will have access to the course materials. Read through the course syllabi for all your classes and have materials you need handy, like books and other school supplies.

Please use the International Student Arrival guide as a resource to get ready as you are coming to study at USU - http://www.usu.edu/soar/intl/
